What the rules say in Brussels
In Brussels, boilers must have a periodic check (the “EPB check”). According to Brussels Environment, it happens every year for an oil boiler and every two years for a gas boiler.
This check must be carried out by a professional approved by Brussels Environment, who gives you a certificate. Keep it: you may be asked for it.
When a heating system is installed or replaced, an “EPB acceptance” is also mandatory, again by an approved professional.
Tenant or owner: your lease says who is responsible. If in doubt, ask us on the phone.
